Default plaural form, door

Dear teachers,

I have three questions to ask:

No.1
We are short of interpreters who know more than one foreign language. My question is: can I use 'languages'?

No.2
He was still behind closed dorrs when the car arrived.
Could you please explain if "still behind the doors" an idiomatic expression?

No.3
I find it difficult to use 'each ' and 'every'. Please read the following sentences. Could you please explain if 'each' and 'every' are interchangeable?

a. Every professional pianist practices for several hours a day.
b. We hope every child will succeed; they are our future.
c. At that time, she sent an article to the newspaper almost every week.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you in advance.

Jiang

Yes, it means the person is still in a meeting where no one is allowed to interrupt the proceedings.

Each does not work here.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
Thank you in advance.
