which one of the above is correct with reference to a typographical error committed in a text? could any one guide?

Is this trying to say "This resulted in "creeping" appearing incorrectly in the text"?

yes, exactly...my version is someone suggested the use of "of"

Readers may kindly accept our sincere apologies for a typographical error, resulted in creeping of an irrelevant line (reading as…) into the text, inadvertently, in the 2nd issue of ................ sent out on 1st Sept 2007. We tender our sincere apologies and request our readers to ignore the aforementioned line.
