Default creeping in...

Would like to know whether the usage creeping an irrelevant line is grammatically correct or not? If not correct, how do we present it correctly? Please guide?

Readers may kindly accept our sincere apologies for a typographical error, resulted in creeping an irrelevant line (reading as…) into the text, inadvertently, in the 2nd issue of ................ sent out on 1st Sept 2007. We tender our sincere apologies and request our readers to ignore the aforementioned line.

This is humourous, because they have made another typographical error. They seem to have meant to say, "resulting in an irrelevant line inadvertently creeping into the text"
