Default Holiday or Holidays

I just did the "holiday/holidays" quiz. It wasn't bad but I'm not really sure how to use it in British English. :?

THX Ulli

If it's a general holiday, we tend to use the plural- the schoolholidays. If it's personal, use the singualr and always use this after 'on'.
