Usage of 'me' or 'I'

I have been told that to use the form 'him and me' is grammatically incorrect - it is now grammatically correct to use 'him and I' - that is not what I was taught - does anyone know the definitive answer?

'him and me' seems fine (both are objects pronouns).

When used as the objects of verbs or prepositions, "him and me" is correct. For subjects, it is "he and I". I can't think of any cases in which "him and I" would be correct, as conjoined pronouns. :wink:
