    What is the difference between 'spice" and "seasoning"? Is chilly pepper a kind of seasoning or not?

    A seasoning is anything you add to food to make it more flavorful. Salt, for example, is not considered a spice, so not all seasonings are spices. Yes, chili pepper is a seasoning.
