Smile take confusing English questions up with native speakers

I make it a rule to take confusing English questions up with native speakers.
I make it a habbit to consult (with) native speakers about confusing English questions.

Do both of the above sounds right and mean about the same? Thanks.

Yes. they sound OK, but there are too many b's in habit. (Say: "Do both sound right?")

Thanks, Ronbee.
Just to make sure, is "with" in the second version optional or must I keep it?

You don't need to use "with" there. We consult people about things.
