"as it is"?

Hi, guys, I don't understand the expression "as it is" in this context.

Can you explain to me?

on used cars telling whether the car is being sold "as it is" or if there is
warranty. This way, buyers know who is responsible for repairs on the car
in case something goes wrong after the sale.

The phrase that is used most commonly here in the US is, "as-is." When a car (or anything else) is purchased "as-is" it means that there is no warranty, and that the thing may not work at all. If a buyer is purchasing an "as-is" item he should inspect it carefully because he will not be able to return it or ask the seller for any type of adjustment after the sale. Usually an "as-is" item is sold for a much lower price than a similar item with a warranty. The buyer accepts this risk because he is convinced, after inspecting it, that the item will work acceptably, or that he can fix it himself.
