| | Chatting is not a panacea, though it will help for everyday's conversations. I used to spend a great deal of time on IRC #london, a sort of chat service. It didn't help that much for any kind of exam in my opinion, though I learned some colorful expressions
I've had several AE teachers since then, so I got the best of both world

| | I go with FRC.
I think the environment is the most critical of all. But it depends on what you need. If you want to pass TOEFL with flying colors, I suggest you self-study or attend some TOEFL courses at academic institute in your country. For listening and speaking, please go find a real human being. On line chatting does help too, but very little. |

| | Though I spend much of my life on the internet, I have to say that I find chat has no appeal to me at all. |

| | Have you ever thought of chatting with a robot? I just did it 5 minutes ago. I tried provoke or tease the robot, I think his answers are pretty cool and fun. As you know, provoking words are usually forbidden on language forum. So if you really get bored, you can try. They have a robot(named Chabba) who can speak Deutsch!!! http://www.pandorabots.com/botmaster/en/mostactive
