Letter Writing
When to use "Thank You" or "Thanking You" in letter writing.

Re: Letter Writing
One example of each would be:
One could start a letter, "Thank you for your letter of 20 November,..."
At the end of a letter, which has made a request (say, for a brochure to be sent out to them):
Thanking you in advance.
Yours faithfully,
John Smith
