Hi there,
I would like to know a couple of things:
-If the verb "start" is followed by a nother verb, does this verb take always -ing? Or can be an infinitive with to? Example: I started running after him or I started to run after him
You are not restricted to -ing.
-Can "wonder" take the -ing form? Example: I'm wondering why you came / I wonder why you came
These are both fine.
-What is a "bright spark"? Can be said of a person? Of an idea?
Someone who is clever and quick in thought. It is said of people.
-Are the following sentences right?
Does it ever snow in India? / Has it ever snowed in India?
I'm learning how to drive. My father is teaching me.
-A: Who owns this umbrella?
B: I don't know. Everybody was using it, but nobody knew who owned it.
That film is coming to the local cinema next week. I'm expecting it.
The second sentence seems to need more.
Thanks a million!!!
