What is the meaning of this phrase: journey of a thousand lifetimes?
How could I paraphrase it?

It doesn't sound like anything that would be uttered by a native-speaker of English unless it was in a poem or song. I can only guess that the intended meaning is something along the lines of -

"It looks like you are in the middle of the journey of a lifetime."

This means that the speaker believes that the journey the listener is currently on is something wonderful and that the opportunity to undertake such a journey is very rare indeed.

perhaps by saying 'a thousand lifetimes' instead of simply 'a lifetime' the speaker was trying to add emphasis to this already very strong expression.

I agree with Horsa's observations. This journey is so spectacular that it should take more than one lifetime to achieve. It would require a thousand lifetimes to surpass the experiences that the writer is conveying! That's quite a journey, isn't it? Where do we get our tickets?
