Smile when the shoplifter stormed out of the door

The alarm went off when the shoplifter stormed out of the door.

To make sure, does the line in bold indicate "when the shoplifter rushed out the door like a storm?" Thanks.

Hi, Angli!

You are exactly correct! The shoplifter was in no mood to be polite during his departure!

Cheers,
