Could you please explain the usage of an indefinite articles before uncountable nouns proceded by adjectives, for instance:

I am looking forward to an everlasting friendship
or
I am looking forward to everlasting friendship.

And it would be very helpful of you if you provide a detailed answer with a wide range of examples.

In your example, I would say 'an everlasting friendship' because I am referring to an instance of friendship (with that person), not friendship in general.
