If the objective is to communicate and communication is successful, then the error is not serious enough to impede communication and correcting it might break upthe flow of the conversation. Forinstance, if someone says 'it deoends of you', the other person is likelyto understand. However, if the teacher leapsin an insists on the use of 'on', it might inhibit the speaker and interrupt things.

Again, the primary aim is communication. If I say 'if I am there, I would taken it', which conditional am I trying to use, what time am I referring to?
