Question care of / about / for?

Hi, thanks for the reply for my previous posts. This time it's preposition. I'd like to know the difference between the use of the different prepositions with the verb care. Thanks!

Default Re: care of / about / for?

prepositions are confusing sometimes

Hi, thanks for the reply for my previous posts.

thanks for the reply 'to' my previous posts.

I care about my family and friends.
I care for my family and friends.

Both are used the same in these sentences. It means you love, have concern and affection for them.

I care for my elderly mother.
I take care of my elderly mother.

Both are used to mean that you are responsible for her and help her.
