Your observation is correct, and if the label read kitchen stuff. you would have to put the period inside the quotation marks. If the label just read kitchen stuff, which it most likely does, the period should be outside the quotation marks. So my comment was based on the most likely probability.

FYI, in the US, the period goes inside the quote, always.
