why we regarded the present and past as tense while the future as atime?

I need the answer for above question?

'Time' is divided up into the past, the present, and the future. We show in speech and in writing just when some action happened in terms of time - whether in the past, the present, or will happen in the future. In grammar, the words we use to indicate what time we are talking about are said to show the 'tense' of the words. So - there is past, present and future time, and past, present and future tense.

It depends on your definition of tense- many say that the future is not a tense because the form of the verb does not change, 'will' doesn't only refer to the future and is one of many different forms we have for talking about future time. However, there is much disagreement about what are and are not tenses in English.
