Just wondering if you can help me with these questions.


-After a verb (adverb function) should we use bad or badly?
Would be, “I was feeling badly or bad”

-Is it right to say “they prefer to talk on another moment” or should be “…on another occasion”?

-Is it always possible to us “too” in the place of “also”?
What is the position of “too” in a sentence? (Beginning, end, after the verb…)
Is it on or on the playground? What about car park?

-Are these sentences correct?
“The news appeared in the newspaper”
“It is wrong expressed” (referring to a sentence that doesn’t sound good)
“She has a poor job”
“He ordered too to give the child’s custody to the FBI”
“He decides to shut up”, “He decides not to say anything”
“They will go to live to/in Barcelona”
“The burglar got caught by the police, while trying to avoid him to commit suicide”

The proper word here is "bad" (adjective), not "badly"(adverb). The adjective here functions as a "complement" following verbs such as "be", "seem" or "feel"

I was feeling bad about failing the exam. (feeling guilty or regretful)

-Is it right to say “they prefer to talk on another moment” or should be “…on another occasion”?

They prefer to talk on another occasion.

This is correct...a moment is too short a time. However, you could say:

They prefer not to talk at this moment.

This means they don't want to talk at this particular point in time.

-Is it always possible to use “too” in the place of “also”?
What is the position of “too” in a sentence? (Beginning, end, after the verb…)

"Too" and "also" can be interchangeable when they mean "in addition to". However, "too" has many more meanings so you must be careful when deciding to substitute "also" for "too"

I want to come too! ("also" means the same thing)
That sandwich is too big! ("too" here means "more than is desirable. "also" cannot be used here)


- Is it in or on the playground? What about car park?

It is on the playground (on the surface) and in the car park (inside the building)

-Are these sentences correct?

“He ordered to give the child into the custody of the FBI”

“He decides to shut up” (but very awkward), “He decides not to say anything”(much better)

“They will go to live in Barcelona”

“The burglar got caught by the police, while trying to avoid him to commit suicide”

“The burglar was caught by the police, preventing him from committing suicide”.
