Question present perfect

Is it correct to say "I have been walking the dog since a week ago" ?

Yes, this is fine, although I would probably say "since last week" instead.

Fiona, thanks for the reply. I would also say last week instead of since a week ago (it sounds awkward). But I was asked the question by a tesol student, and I was not quite certain if it was correct.
Fiona is a nice irish name ....by the way.
