Hi there,
thanks,
But how about in this example?
Mary's mother had died when she was born. OR
Mary's mother had been dead when she was born.
Which one is correct? any difference in meaning between the two sentences?
Thanks
pete
HI there,
Thanks a lot.
Sorry to ask one more question.
I read an article about a woman died in a car accident. She had a baby. Luckily, there was a doctor and with the help of the ambulance men, he immediately did a surgery and successfully saved her baby. In this case, can I say
like this:
The woman had died when her baby was born.
thanks
pete
"The woman was dead when her baby was delivered by caesarian section."
Hi there,
Thanks a lot for your answers. May I ask the last question about 'die'?
Do you mean English native speakers rarely use 'die' with present perfect tense? Under what circumstances will you use 'have /has /had died'???
Thanks a lot
pete
