Default nominative versus objective prounouns

When you are using pronouns after the word "like", are they in the nominative case (I or we) or the objective case (me or us)?

Example: "They are like Bruce and I" .... or "They are like Bruce and me"?

I would say 'They are like Bruce and me', and 'They are as tall as I (am)'.

After 'like' use the objective case. After 'as' both are used, though formal English and grammar buffs tend to favour the nominatice case because'as' is a conjunction not a preposition.
