infection vs disease
Hello! I'm wondering whether you could help me with the following exercise.
I need to choose the correct option in the following sentence:
My sister is in bed with a chest disease/infection.
I know the correct answer is infection, but I really couldn't say why. So I'd really appreciate it if anyone could give me a hand with this one. Thank you.

Re: infection vs disease
"chest infection" is the more usual term - generally coughs and interference in breathing from infection by a virus or germs.
Chest disease is more like tuberculosis or cancer in the lungs, and would more usually be termed lung disease.
