Hi Brahmanyan,

As an American, I, of course, cannot speak about any usage that may be prevalent in India. Still the phrase "look [something] up in the dictionary" is so common here in America and -- obviously from the previous posts here in this thread -- also in the UK, that "look into the dictionary" might have a rather stilted sound to most English speakers outside of India.

- a chacun son goût -- as the French would have it. Or as we are apt to say: - to each his own.
