    Smile that they must face with poverty

    Visiting Africa really opened my eyes to the problems that must face with poverty.


    What does "with poverty" indicate in the above? Is it "because of poverty?" Thanks.

    The sentence as written isn't quite correct, it should be "they must face", or "people" must face" or something similar to work properly.

    The meaning is still clear though and "with" does mean "because of" in this case.

    It's also common to say "the problem with (something) is....." and then say what the problem is.

    You were right in your original post, it does mean "because of".
