I agree with most of Cas's answers. It would be unusual, at least in American English to say "going...by bikes or by horses or by cars". We notmally use only the singular there. It describes a method of transportation. We also say "to the hospital". In British English "to hospital" is the common form. :wink:Originally Posted by blue
