Bog Down What does "Bog Down" mean?

Re: Bog Down To become bogged down means to become stuck or unable to move forward.
The origin if this expression is from horse and wagon days when one could become stuck when trying to traverse a swamp or bog. It is used today in many situations where business or political deals loose momentum and stall.
Example: Union negotiations bogged down today with neither side willing to alter their positions.
