    Default love???

Is there another way of saying or
an idiom for "falling in love" in English?

I was smitten by her. (rare, less emphatic)

It was love at first sight.

I can't think of a short, simple idiomatic equivalent. If you don't want to use "fall in love" you'd probably give a more detailed description of your feelings, reactions, emotions.

Do you want a romantic and poetic form or a simple straightforward form?
