hello,
I came across the phrase " It's scary to be way out of here by myself." How do you expalin / pharaphrase the sentence? especially the meaning of the word " way"?
Thanks
The word "way" means "so far" in this case. It is an intensifier of "out".Originally Posted by GUEST
In my opinion, your sentence should be "It's scary to be way out here by myself."
This could have a literal or a figurative meaning.
literal: I am afraid because I am physically located in an area far from other people.
figurative: I am afraid because I have no supporters for my position.
