    Default tightly

    Hello everyone
I'd like to ask what "tightly" means in the following context:

    "You okay, Dish?" Vega asked.
Bowles gave the commabdo one final kick, then stepped back. "Now I'm fine", he said tightly.

What does "tightly" imply in this case?
