The same word twice in a row..."had had" or "

I was wondering how many
(or any) cases there are where a word can be used twice in a row with out any punctation. For example: "John had had many calls" or "I want a number such that that number will be even."

Also, for "that that" what are the parts of each that.

John had taken many calls. (Past Perfect of the verb TAKE)
John had fielded many calls. (Past Perfect of the verb FIELD)
John had dialed many calls. (Past Perfect of the verb DIAL)
John had hung upon many calls. (Past Perfect of the verb HANG UP)
John had had many calls. (Past Perfect of the verb HAVE) :D

I want a number such that that number will be even. :D
that + that = Relative pronoun + Demonstrative pronoun.
