I cannot say as I did not see the movie. I am lucky as I am only borderline narcoleptic. I sleep about 4-5 hours of interrupted sleep at night but if I am passive I can fall asleep anywhere in 5 minutes. I also have a confirming symptom called cataplexy which is a neural disorder where you can lose muscle control when under an emotional situation...you can literally fall down laughing. Most narcoleptics have this condition.
We don't sleep too much. In fact we are sleep deprived in most cases. It is just that we often have an overpowering desire for sleep that can occur at awkward moments. We are good power nappers though. We only need 15-20 minutes of sleep to feel refreshed.
If there were no medical reason for someone who fell asleep a lot and who needed lots of sleep, you might use the slang term
lazybones
