Hi Teachers,

I often see people writing in the form " commmitted to preparing you" as stated in 1st sentence. Is 2nd sentence usage " to prepare you " wrong?

1.We are committed to preparing you to lead responsibly and globally.

2.We are committed to prepare you to lead responsibly and globally.

Kindly explain the grammar behind the usage.

"To be committed to" is a phrasal verb.
"preparing you to lead responsibly and globally" is a gerund phrase which is the object of the sentence

#1 is the correct answer.
