Red face it's me got the day wrong, the thing you have in common

***Judy is blaming Peter about his mistake. Jess said, "Well, it's not Peter's fault, may be it's me got the day wrong."***

    1) What does it mean of "it's me got the day wrong"?

***Jim is dating with Lulu. However, Jim's mother knows Jim doesn't like the food, hobbies, activities.... that Lulu likes very much. Jim's mother asked Jim, "What did Lulu do when you told her that you lied about the thing you have in common?"***

    2) What does it mean of "the thing you have in common"?

    Many thanks.

You might want to rephrase part of your 1st question thus: "… it's (*me) I who got the day wrong"?

I guess it means Jess might not have got or remembered the ‘correct’ day. You’ll have to provide more contexts for anyone to figure out exactly what the ‘day’ here means.

"The thing you have in common" in your 2nd question means Jim told Lulu untruthfully he liked the kind of food Lulu liked and he shared the same hobbies and activities Lulu enjoyed.

    It means,

"Maybe I got the day wrong"

***Jim is dating [with] Lulu. However, Jim's mother knows Jim doesn't like the food, hobbies, activities.... that Lulu likes very much. Jim's mother asked Jim, "What did Lulu do when you told her that you lied about the things you have in common?"***

    The sentence should be,

"What did Lulu do when you told her that you had lied about the things she thought you had in common?"

"To have things in common" means to like two or more people share the same type of feelings about certain things. These can be personal choices; "We both like pizza" or they can be impersonal things such as having the same color hair "in common".

    Many thanks.

Why would you suggest that it be rephrased, BH?
