which sentence is right:
1) this is mary and jane
2) these are mary and jane

Hello,
I think it depends on the purpose you are using the sentence for:
1) If you are introducing these two persons I think you can say:
This is mary and jane.
2) But if your showing them you say:
These are mary and jane.
