Smile Dolphins/Porposes can be trained to do many different tricks.

Dolphins/Porposes can be trained to do many different tricks.
Dolphins/Porposes can train to do many different tricks.

For a start, what is the difference between a dolphin and a porpose?
Second, do both of the above versions sound right? If not, why not? Thanks.

Part 1

"For a start, what is the difference between a dolphin and a porpoise?"
Google it

Part 2

Dolphins/Porpoises can be trained to do many different tricks. (correct)

Dolphins/Porpoises can train to do many different tricks. (not so much)
This sentence does not make sense. Can dolphins really train? If so who do they train

Note spelling "porpoise."
They're very similar, differing mainly in the structure of their teeth The words "dolphin" and "porpoise" are often used incorrectly. I think the best way to find this sort of information is through wikipedia.org.

Only human beings train. "I'm training for the marathon" means that I'm following a program of exercising, practicing, building up my skills and knowledge. I may have help, I may have a trainer, but the primary responsibility is my own.

Animals can only "be trained."
