Default to verify and to validate

Hello

How different to verify and to validate are from each other? I vaguely understand both means to demonstrate. But I wish to better understand them. I am wondering if someone would kindly help me. Thank you so much in advance.

'Verify' is checking. 'Validate' is checking and, if OK, approving.
