This rhymes so it is probably poetry or a song....you should tell us this when you post your message.

Unless he/she is talking to a bird, this is a metaphor of some kind. More of the verse should have been shown for us to say what the metaphor relates to.

A guess would be that the sentence means that "even though we look different on the outside, we are the same on the inside." This could mean emotions as well as just bodily organs.

You should "keep it up" with your talkativeness quoting the words of the COW, HORSE and Charlotte in order to be more intelligible your puzzled and tricky post.

I have a nodding acquaintance with the "works" of your favorite Richard Purdy Wilbur, but I might tel you a few words in answer your eccentrically question.

COW "I've got hooves, you've got webbed feet, but we both stand up to
eat."

and then the words of a chorus:

Cause we've got lots in common where it really counts
when it really counts, we've got large amounts
What we look like doesn't count an ounce
