Hi can anyone explain how to explain this


that'll be Jack
that's Jack

that'll be Jack = That will be Jack.
that's Jack = That is Jack.

If you are expecting Jack and you hear a knock at the door you could say, "That'll be Jack."

If you see Jack across the street you might say to your friend, "that's Jack".

Thanks but I am more interested in how to explain this such as a definite article,possibility etc

Hi Hashoomer,

Both can relate to someone knocking at the door. The second shows the speaker is 100% sure that Jack has arrived. The first show a slightly weaker belief on the part of the speaker that Jack has arrived.
