Default I get confused about the proper usage of Me and I

I wrote:
My wife Sharon and I were called into the bus ministry.

Is that correct?

Yes, it is correct.

In order not to get confused using "I & Me", I will explain briefly.

I is a subject pronoun - I play football
Me is an object pronoun - You asked me

The Part of speech of "My wife Sharon and I" is a subject, thus you should use I
Is this satisfied you?
regards

It is correct. Some people say 'Sharon and me were called', but regard this as unacceptable.
