You could get by with either sentence.
What colors are seen most often at Christmas time?... is more precise. I personally don't like the sound of 'most around'!

"Christmas time" is heavily commercialized in Canada, and the Christmas sales and advertising seem to begin earlier every year.
Our biggest department store in downtown Toronto began playing Christmas music on October 30 this year!
