I cannot distinguish these words!
differences between : Intervene and Interfere and Interrupt Sprout and Germinate? I suppose interfere has a negative meaning while Intervene has a positive meaning, do they?

Re: I cannot distinguish these words!
You're on the right track!
intervene = come between
interfere = make trouble between
interrupt = do something or talk when someone else is already doing/talking
germinate = cause to begin the growth cycle; inseminate in animals
sprout = begin to produce leaves, hair or other new parts.

Re: I cannot distinguish these words!
Hi belly_ttt,
intervene = a) to come, appear, or be between two things
"You can't see the lake from there because the house intervenes."
b) to involve oneself in a situation so as to alter or hinder an action or development
"Every gardener faces choices about how and how much to intervene in nature's processes."
c) to interfere, usually through force or threat of force, in the affairs of another nation.
interfere = to be or create a hindrance or obstacle
..loud talking that interfered with the other patrons conservations..
b) to intervene or intrude in the affairs of others;
synonym: meddle = to intrude into other's people affairs or business
When two or more waves interact and combine, they interfere with one another., But interference is not necessarily bad: wave may interfere constructively, resulting in a wave longer then the original waves. Or, they may interfere destructively, combining in such a way that they form a wave smaller than the original ones. Even so, destructive interference may have positive effects: without the application of destructive interference to the muffler in an automobile exhaust system, for instance, noise pollution from cars would be far worse than it is.

Re: I cannot distinguish these words!
So, how it is different from "Interfere in sth" and "Interfere with" sth?
