Default Going on

Hi again,
This is from a good song:
"I was once like you are now, and I know that it’s not easy,
To be calm when you’ve found something going on."
What's the meaning of going on in this thread please?! I failled to understand it from the dictionary.
Thanks.

It's hard to say for sure without more context, Sara, but it may well mean that someone's loved one is involved somehow with another; "going on between two people, often in a romantic or sexual manner".

Wow thanks so much Riverkid, I'm so happy to receive answers from a Canadian, I really love Canada.
Ok you can see the whole song in the poetry and songs section, I've just posted it. You may understand it more.
Thanks again.

Father
It’s not time to make a change,
Just relax, take it easy.
You’re still young, that’s your fault,
There’s so much you have to know.
Find a girl, settle down,
If you want you can marry.
Look at me, I am old, but I’m happy.

I was once like you are now, and I know that it’s not easy,
To be calm when you’ve found something going on.
But take your time, think a lot,
Why, think of everything you’ve got.
For you will still be here tomorrow, but your dreams may not.

+++++++++++++++++++++

It's still hard to tell what 'going on' means here, Sara. With the other context, the father telling the son that he can marry, it doesn't seem like my first idea was completely accurate, though it can't be ruled out.

I guess it's time to ask Cat, "What did/do you mean by ...?"

We do this all the time in language. We understand all the words, the structures but we just miss the intended meaning.

Yeah that's the problem sometime I understand all the words but to understand the whole meaning is difficult...anyway thanks for being patient with my questions.
I'll try to send Cat a private message to solve this problem..I'll tell u then what's the answer.
