* How many exams will you have? = How many tests are you going to take?
How many subjects....? This is not necessarily the same as 'how many (tests)(exams)....?'. You could have 2 tests in the same subject.
* My friend asked me this thinking of the question to be an inquiry about the number or examination periods in one school year. What do you think? Of course 'exams' and 'examination periods' are not the same.
