Use of preposition

Could I use the preposition "in" instead of "for" in the following sentence?
"The MBC Association would like to extend its appreciation to the volunteers who act as student escorts for (in) the ABC Competitions of this year." Thanks for advice.

Wouldn't both prepositions be appropriate for the example given?
Other examples using "for": 'Price-Waterhouse was the accounting firm for the Oscar presentations.' 'Yummy Tummy was the caterer for the Johnson wedding.' 'The London-based printing company prepared the flyers for the symphony.' The use of 'in' does not sound correct in these sentences.

Wouldn't both prepositions be appropriate for the example given? - Yes; that's what I felt, though it wouldn't work in all examples. It works because of 'Competitions' IMO; with the Oscars, 'at' would work for me.
