the prices are no more expensive

I read in Raymond Murphy's ENGLISH GRAMMAR IN USE such a sentence: This shop isn't expensive. The prices are no more expensive than anywhere else.

This sentence sounds odd to me. We say 'This shop/ shirt is expensive' and 'The prices are high'. Do we also say 'The prices are expensive'?

Another question:
Do we say 'The temperature is cold/ warm/ hot'?

No - I would say "The prices are no more OR no higher than anywhere else".

Another question:
Do we say 'The temperature is cold/ warm/ hot'?

The temperature today is high/low. It feels hot/cold.
