    Default Nobody but me

In Section 116 of his book "Practical English Usage" (3rd Edition), Michael Swan says, "Nobody but she..." (i.e., that the use of subject pronoun is possible before a verb) is correct, but in Section 429.2, he says that only an object form is possible in such constructions: "Nobody but me.."

    Could someone help me?

Section 116: "Nobody but she would do a thing like that." [Here, he says, "Nobody but her would do a thing like that" is synonymous with the earlier sentence, and is equally correct, albeit informal].

Section 429.2:"Nobody but me knew the answer." [But here, he says, "Nobody but I knew the answer" is wrong]
