Default range of motion

Hi there.

What's 'range of motion'? What does 'range' mean in context?

What's difference between 'range of motion' and exercise?

Thanks in advance.

Default Re: range of motion

Range - The maximum extent or distance limiting operation, action, or effectiveness.

I pulled a muscle playing paint-ball, now my arm has a limited range of motion.
