happen / happened Which is correct? I happen to see your posting yesterday. I happened to see your posting yesterday. The second one seems right, but they sound the same. Mark Tse

Re: happen / happened "yesterday" indicates that the event is in the past, so the verb will be in the past tense.
Now it happens/If I happen to go there today...
Yesterday it happened
Tomorrow it could/will happen
It has happened.
I happened to see your posting yesterday
