Default two fingers of rotgut

From Betty Blue by Philippe Djian:

"I felt rubber-legged, sort of a street-angel-blitzed-on-two-fingers-of-rotgut thing."

Is finger also a kind of measurement unit for alcohol?

Certainly. Never officially accepted, but used by millions of drinkers all over the world...

"Fingers" was usually an alcoholic measurement used in Mickey Spillane-style detective novels.

Wrap your hand around the bottom of a glass. If the bartender fills it to where the top of your hand is, that's "four fingers" of booze.
